About Arnicare Meltaway Tablets
Arnicare Meltaway Tablets take arnica internally: for muscle pain and stiffness after minor injuries, overexertion or a fall, and for the pain, swelling and discolouration of a bruise. The unflavoured tablets dissolve under the tongue, with no water needed. Each box holds 60 tablets in three sleeves, and the tablets suit adults and children from six years up.
How Arnicare Meltaway Tablets Work
Arnica montana — the mountain daisy — has been used on injuries for centuries, but the concentrated plant extract is unsafe to swallow. Boiron’s answer is a homeopathic dilution at 9C, which is safe taken internally as directed. Two things in the plant do the work. Helenalin, its main active component, interferes with the regulation of genes that code for inflammatory mediators, and it does so at very low concentration inside the cell — so the swelling and pain that come with inflammation ease off. The plant’s polysaccharides stimulate phagocytosis, which is how a bruise gets cleared. Taking it as a tablet reaches what a cream cannot: a deep bruise, a stiff back, the ache after surgical trauma. It carries no NSAIDs, so it is gentle on the stomach, and it has no known interactions with other medicines or supplements. Pair it with Arnicare Gel on the skin over the same spot.
Key Ingredients
One active and a plain tablet base:
- Arnica — prepared at 9C from the mountain daisy. It relieves muscle pain and stiffness, swelling from injuries, and the discolouration of bruises.
- Croscarmellose sodium, lactose and magnesium stearate — the tablet itself. NSAID-free and gluten-free, with no artificial sweeteners, flavours, colours or preservatives.
Who It’s For
For the sporty, the accident-prone and anyone who bruises at the slightest knock. It belongs in a first aid kit, a gym bag and a suitcase — and because it works from six years up, one box covers the whole household.
Suggested Use
Adults and children 6 years and over: at the onset of symptoms, dissolve 2 tablets under the tongue and repeat every hour for two more hours. After that, 2 tablets every 6 hours until symptoms ease, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner. Children 2 to 5 years: dissolve 2 tablets in a tablespoon of water and follow the same timing. Under 2 years, ask your practitioner first.
Frequently Asked Questions
Tablets or gel? The gel works on one spot from the outside; the tablets reach what your hands cannot — a deep bruise, a stiff back, a knock you cannot get to. Many people use both at once.
Will it upset my stomach like ibuprofen? No. There is no NSAID in it, which is exactly why Boiron labels it gentle on the stomach.
How soon should I take it? As soon as possible after the knock. Arnica is at its most useful in the first hours, while the swelling is still building.
Can my kids take it? From 6 years they take the tablets as they are; from 2 to 5 years you dissolve them in a spoonful of water first.
