How VIVI Works

Key Ingredients

Four ingredients, two of them doing the heavy lifting.

• Lomatium — an Indigenous American herb that came to prominence during the 1918 flu pandemic, work that led to a Nobel Prize nomination for Dr Ernst Krebs. A 1951 thesis from the University of Southern California’s Department of Medical Microbiology found an oil extracted from Lomatium as effective as or better than penicillin against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria.
• Pau d’arco — the Brazilian hardwood that stays fungus-free in a humid rainforest, which is the clue to its chemistry: naphthoquinones, anthraquinones, coumarins, flavonoids and lapachol. It works as a natural expectorant, helping the lungs clear mucus and lodged contaminants, and research points to activity against Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus and Helicobacter pylori.
• Bitter almond and jojoba oils — bitter almond, from the Swietenia macrophylla tree, brings benzaldehyde, amygdalin and monounsaturated fats with antibacterial, antiparasitic, antifungal and antiviral activity of their own. Jojoba carries the fat-soluble actives.
