Detoxification is currently a popular trend, with various cleansing regimes available. However, it’s important to approach detoxification correctly to avoid feeling worse than when you started. Given the toxins we encounter from water, food, the air, and even unwelcome microbes, the instinct to detox quickly may arise. This approach can backfire as it is crucial to support the body’s pathways for toxin elimination first, to help with the removal of toxins from the body. What happens is that if you start pulling toxins out, but there is no place for these toxins to go, they pile up. This can heighten the very symptoms you are trying to improve.

You can think of the body as a big city. Each house represents a cell. What if everyone took the trash out and it was never collected? It would pile up and create problems. It is crucial to prioritize supporting the body’s natural toxin elimination pathways. Rushing into detoxification without preparing the body can lead to unintended consequences.

Therefore, the first step in detox starts with drainage. This is the drainage funnel. It shows the order in which the body moves fluids to remove toxins.

Prior to addressing pathogen elimination and the removal of harmful chemicals from the body, it’s imperative to ensure the optimal function of drainage pathways. These drainage pathways need to be open and stay open.

The Colon

When the colon becomes congested, it can lead to a domino effect where issues arise higher up in the body’s detoxification pathways. Constipation is a primary concern, and for individuals dealing with health challenges, the target is to have regular bowel movements, ideally 2 to 3 times a day. Think of constipation as a waste processing plant in a city that fails to empty its tanks. Similarly, if your patients try to force upstream detox when the outflow isn’t moving, it can cause problems.

Ways to support regular elimination:
– Bowel moving herbs
– Carbon technology with humic and vulvic acid
– Physical activity
– Drinking lots of clean water

The Liver and Bile ducts

In the drainage funnel of the body, just above the colon, you’ll find the liver and bile ducts. The liver is like the reservoir that collects the wastewater from the entire town. Much like these reservoirs, the liver’s function is to separate the water from the waste materials. The water can then be purified and returned to the houses for reuse. As for the waste, the liver filters toxins from the blood and processes them for elimination. These are then deposited in the bile. Unfortunately, this is an area which gets easily blocked/inflamed/narrowed or damaged.

Just like the drains in the home can get clogged, so can the bile ducts. As a result, toxins and bile acids can stagnate and accumulate in the liver, potentially damaging the organ. On top of that, stagnation breeds sickness. If your patient is not moving toxins out efficiently, these toxins can contribute to chronic illness.

Ways to open up the liver and bile ducts:
– KL Support and advanced Tudca
– Coffee enemas
– Sauna
– Ct Minerals and CT Iodine

The Lymphatics

Moving further up in the drainage funnel, we come to the often-underappreciated lymphatic system, which is vitally important in the body’s detoxification process. The lymphatic system comprises a network of vessels responsible for draining fluids from the body’s tissues. Each day, blood vessels release several liters of fluid into the tissues. The lymphatic system’s crucial role is to collect this fluid and return it to the bloodstream. However, before it re-enters circulation, the lymph nodes step in to filter out bacteria, toxins, and viruses, allowing the immune cells to address them. Unfortunately, the lymph doesn’t always flow as much as needed. Poor lymphatic movement can result in tissue swelling like in the ankles or creating cellulite.

Ways to support the lymphatic system:
– Specific herbs
– Sauna
– Movement
– Massage

Organs and Tissues

Let’s look at the brain. In order for the brain to drain, the lymphatic system has to be draining, the liver and bile ducts have to be draining, and the colon has to be draining. What happens otherwise? Brain fog, headaches, memory issues, and not thinking clearly can all be symptoms of poor brain drainage and drainage funnel issues. Adequate sleep is the best way to support this part of the drainage funnel. Best is to sleep at least 7 hours a night.

The Cells

Mitochondria are organelles inside the cells. They are the power switch to the whole drainage funnel.  They also play a role in immune defence and DNA repair. So, people need them working well to support the detox journey — and to reduce the risk of disease. Products such as BC-ATP help support mitochondrial function. It is important to lay the right groundwork to start detoxing and healing at the cellular level. That means tackling the drainage funnel from the bottom up, which ultimately impacts the cells.

The detoxification process should be thoughtfully supervised and adjusted as needed. The underlying concept is to ensure that detox reactions remain manageable; if they become too intense, it may be necessary to go slower, or ramp it up as in some instances you can go too slow.
